Ms. Julie Nguyen (Nguyen Thanh Thuy), the newly crowned Thailand Local Champion, astounded the judges and attendees with her remarkable creation, "FROM SIP TO SEED", a cocktail designed to elevate the potential of every part of a common household staple – corn.
🌽 "FROM SIP TO SEED" – A Toast to Sustainability
Ms. Julie's cocktail is a tribute to the beautiful Corn Islands in Nicaragua and the versatility of corn. Beyond the familiar corn kernels, she harnessed the often-overlooked parts of the corn, such as husks, silk, and cobs, ingeniously crafting them into a cocktail that not only tastes delightful but embodies the spirit of sustainability.
By using all parts of the corn and Flor de Caña 12, Ms. Julie turned what might have been waste into an exceptional drink. Paired with local ingredients like palmyra sugar and coconut milk, her cocktail not only reduces waste but also supports local businesses and minimizes environmental impact.
